Default Spark plug problems

I've done some looking into all the discussions on The spark plug problems and it seems using a impact gun to remove the old plugs is the common technique? Is this really the best way to get them out without breaking them?

When I did my plugs I tried the first two with a impact gun on a low setting after watching the videos saying the constant torque would help break the carbon loose. Broke both. Then went to the half turn out quarter turn back method and got four of the next six out without breaking them. So I had a 66% success rate with the ratchet and 0% with the impact. Just my story. Good luck. Even if they do break the lisle tool is a breeze to use. Good luck.
