Default SPARK PLUG CHANGING(7th broke off)

Well ya'll was changine the spark plugs on the truck.1-6 went fine, and 8 went fine.Wouldnt you figure the number 7 spark plugs breaks off.The sleeve broke off.Was frozen in their. So after trying to troubleshoot some ideas to get it out, didnt work, lol. So i called my frend criss(the head guy at my auto shop i use free of charge afterhours)he took a look at it.He came over looked at it and was familiar with the tool(rotanda spark plug sleeve remover) and we had two options we could do.Make our own rotanda tool(basically all the tool is is a tap and die tool mo)or we could order the tool. But we didnt want to risk useing our tool and doing more damage to cylender walls on the way down.So i just said i would order the part.

Well checked a few sites online and they were from 2-300 bucks.Called a few places to see if they rented or had it in stock. No joy, lol.Well finaly we checked the snap on tools website and joy they had it in stock and get this, for only 88bucks.Well i will have the tool by tomorow as my friend deals with snap on tools for his shop.Wish me luck on the last one ya'll.

If you guys have problems removing the plugs and one does in fact break off.Get the tool.it will save ya'll allot of money in the long run.And hey you cant go wrong for 88bucks.What worked up untill the 7 one,a semi warm engine, and pb-blaster soakeing for about 5minutes. Well i will let ya'll know how it turns out with the tool tomorow.Wish me luck.

I'm sure it would. Based off of the picture, it looks like this socket has a built in extension, perhaps that adds additional stability when crankin' those babies out!

Default snap on guy brought the wrong tool remover

To answer (wouldnt a reguler spark plug removal tool work)tried it brother,no go.Gotta either take it in or by the tool and do it yourself.Well theirs a hold up on the tool from snap on ya'll,he braught the tool to remove the porcalin part if that brakes off,not the tool to remove the sleeve of it.So he will have it tomorow. However thoe i did stop by a ford stealership to ask if the tool actually works(hey i dont want to waste the money if doesnt work right, lol)he knew exactly what i was talking about any what was funny was that he was a doing a spark plug removal with the tool ona 05 xlt 5.4 so he let me watch him and ya'll it does work if done right and is worth the money guys let me tell you.Like i said before in my previous post, snap on has it on sale for 86 bucks, cant go wrong.better than shelling out 3grand to take it in,remove the engine, remove the heads,lol..Anyways i will keep ya'll posted. So again wish me luck,

Rnger3rd, Here is an idea for you,
once you get it take pictures of the proper Way to use it and post them.
Then you can rent the tool out to other forum member say $15 + shipping to and from them

It wouldn't take long to get your money back out of it and you will have the tool free and clear and help out form members as well
