Was wondering if i took the spare tire steel rim and put a full size real tire on it would it still fit back onto the underside of the bed? The spare is great and all but i would like a real tire on there in case i do need to get a replacement on my full size tires that i can drive around on the spare for a lil bit (work travel is 10 miles a way each day) instead of being limited to only like 5-70 miles before the spare tire is bleh

OR

should i get a better rim and full size tire to keep under there (again would a 5th stock wheel fit under there?)

My "stock" spare is a full 17x7.5 rim with a Michelin 265/70/17 tire. I think that's full size. I do not know how much bigger a tire or rim will fit though.

My spare is a full size as well. Did you get stuck with a donut spare?

Never seen one without factory same size tire and wheel. Do you have aftermarket wheels?

All 04-08 come with a full size spare tire.. My FX4 came with 20 inch wheels and I have an 18 inch spare...
