Default Cam Phasers ADVICE NEEDED

I have a 2005 5.4L with 23k on it, it sounds like a diesel at idle, seems to be extra loud on the passenger side. I have brought it to the dealer and they insist that it is normal for that motor, dispite the fact that they don't sound like when new. What should I do? Its still under warrenty.. At this point i am ready to change the cam phasers myself, is there anything else that could be causing this? Performance wise it runs great..

Go to another dealer. Your right it should not sound like that. If you cannot get satisfaction that way contact the Ford Corporation.

I'm new to the group, but my 04' with 95000 miles on it sounds like that too. Performance wise mine also runs good. Just sounds bad.

Take it in to another dealer unless you are out of 3/36 by time.

Took her to another dealer and right away they said it must be the cam phasers, the are going to replace them both. They said ford grades the dealerships on how many warrenty jobs they do, and the less the better. Some bull****, the thief that sold me my truck wouldnt stand behind it and fix it..

As long as you do not over do it with the warranty claims, then you'll get along with your service dept just fine- regardless of where you bought it from.

Have you read the list of warranty work I've had done to my truck, read my thread My servicing dealer didn't sell me my truck but they have been great about any concern I've had.

Glad you got it fixed Zach

WTG Zach. Sounding like a diesel is NOT normal for a gas engine. Glad they are taking care of you.
