Sound System ideas?

I have a super cab too, found a box on ebay for $70 shipped fits great. Only came in a dark grey carpet but I got vinyl/carpet paint and matched the light grey carpet in the truck.

I'm really new to sound so I don't know much. I can't figure out how to match up subs with amps that will power them. I'm getting a Pioneer FH-X700BT double din radio. Most likely I'm getting Alpine SPS-517 speakers.

It can be confusing. The hard part can be matching up the ohm load a amp can handle and the ohm load of a sub. Your better off getting a mono block amp which basically means a single channel. 2 reasons, 1 is they are made to drive subs and 2 they are usually small in size which is nice in a truck. Most run at 2 ohms so look for a sub with dual 4 ohm voice coils which when wired together will drop down to 2 ohms. Next just match up power ratings of the sub to amp. So if you get a 600w amp get a sub that is close to 600w. If you order from Crutchfield they will help you out if not check out this site it's very helpful. ..the12volt.com.

Correct you just have to wire them up in series parallel. On each sub connect one positive from one voice coil to the negative on the other voice coil then a wire off the other the other remaining positive and negative. Then connect both positives together as well as the negatives and you'll have a 2 ohm load at the amp. That site I linked has diagrams to make it easier.

I'm a pioneer fan, lots of features and can be found cheap on ebay or amazon. I have a focal 10" in an underseat box. Found both on ebay $99 for sub $69 for box. Hard part is finding a good sub that's shallow enough to fit in an underseat box.
