Default Sorry But another MPG ?'s....is 10mpg normal??

Ok first of all Yes I did read for the past two hours previous threads about mpg. I read all the "Read this First" post about mpg. Yes everybody is saying what they get for mpg but not all say what they have done to their truck. I read about some saying mpg droping after installing CAI and some saying they got an increase, dont know which side to believe. I have also done a lot of reading about programmers. Seems like the more i read the more confused I get.
I get 10mpg
I have 4 inch lift, flowmaster muffler SISO, Volant CAI, 35 inch tires. ALL mods were done before i got the truck.
I bought the truck with 28k miles and has gotten 10mpg since, SOMETIMES when i am lucky i get 11 Last tank got 12mpg but i was driven home from the mountains, all down hill.

SO I guess I got two questions
1.)how many people get this bad of gas mileage and what mods do you have? Did you improve somehow?
2.)I am thinking about a chip, and what i read A LOT of you like the Edge EVO, is this what I am looking for?

SORRY IF THE MPG THREADS ARE GETTING REDUNDANT, MY BAD

I have an 2002 KR and with cold morning warm ups and town driving, I get about 10-11 MPG.

One problem you might have, you like the sound of your exhaust too much. Your gassing alot to hear it. :-)

the lift will affect mpg negatively, ok. 35 inch tires will affect your readings... have you fixed the computer for it using someting like a programmer?

flowmaster and CAI, usually will lower your mpg, but if you have both, you normally have to tune your computer to them, using a programmer.

the edge evo is a programmer, yes, you may need that. but a custom programmer could be a better option if you can afford it.

the edge evo allows you to customize some stuff and come with some programs on it. very generic, maybe enough for most cases. it comes with "canned tunes". you can buy it used, but be sure to get all, unit and cable, and the unit reset to level 0 (also refered as unlocked). the edge evo can be installed in the truck, when you run it, it will update the computer, doing a backup first of the existing program and naming it as program 0. if you run it and program the computer with program 1, 2, 3, you cannot just remove it from the truck and install in another. it wont allow you. it need to be first in program 0. its $75 from the manufacturer to unlock one otherwise.

gryphon is another option as well and also comes with "canned tunes"

custom calibration (http://www.powerhungryperformance.com/) its a bit different... basically is custom to your combination of CAI and Exhaust, and it can be even more custom if you put your truck in a dyno machine to create your own program

most custom tunes are for performance, not economy...

edge are cheaper than gryphon. you can get one new for around $320. used with some luck $250...

A true custom tune is really done with a dyno and programmed for your actual truck. The Edge Evo has tunes designed for our trucks, but not every truck runs exactly like the next. I would say with that lift and tires, you're getting what you should for MPG.

14 mpg

2.5 leveling kit, 33s, SI/DO magnaflow, gryphon CS on canned tunes (waiting in custom tunes still), and the gotts modd. To much playin around with the throttle. I could probably push 14.5 MAYBE 15.

Abit low. I get the same on 38s. Again, alot has to do with how you drive. The Edge will do you some good.

My truck is totally stock with 235/75/17's and it gets 13-16 mpg, mostly highway driving.

If youre doing mainly city driving with big tires and a lift youre probably at about wheres its gonna be. Probably not too far off if its highway driving either, especially if you have a heavy foot.
