Default some questions on 06 f150

Just got a 06 F150 XLT XTR 4x4 5.4L about a month and a half ago and looking to do some stuff.

So far its getting big flaps on it with some chrome as I live on gravel roads and have 30 miles round trip every day.

Was thinking of dual exhaust but from the muffler back so the coppers dont stick to me like glue but am lost on what to get. I will be traveling 600 miles per week or more so i want to keep my mileage where its at or better from 22 average.

Also I was told about programmers for power, mpg and torque. Not that I need anymore power as the heavies thing i tow is a 2 or 4 place sled trailer with sleds or quads.

Leveling kit will be put on after winter but nothing big.

Getting new tires (stock size) on it soon as the stock rugged trails are terrible and are useless in the winter. Thinking of destination a/t's or ltx a/t 2's for all around performance. too much ice and snow for procomps here even though i wanted them

heres a pic of my newish toy.

Welcome aboard!

Just about twice a week, there are questions on exhaust, cold air intakes, tuners, and tires. Probobly the most asked questions. If you don't have problems in reading, select the "search" button, and type in "exhaust", or CIA (cold air intake), or "tuners"...then read away and make your decision based on the tons of threads you'll read from.

As to tires, "LovetheTide" did a great post on tires and fitment. It is located at the top of this forum as a sticky. Here's a direct link to it:

Enjoy the reading! Nice truck!

I just started searching just before your post.

The fitment I'm not worried about as for now I won't be going anything bigger then 285. Just finding a tire that is decent and wont fall apart on gravel.

Thanks for the info. Found some good stuff so far.

Informative site.
