Some new rotors and pads.....
I just picked up my new pads and slotted and dimpled rotors I ordered from Rotorpros.net .They will be a Saturday project after a SUV detailing in the AM..

From what I have read because of the weight of our trucks and the fact you can and will haul and tow with them that a crossdrilled rotor will have more of a tendency to crack. The dimpled does somewhat the same job as the slotted rotor.I got them dimpled more for the looks without the chances of cracking. But Rotorpros salesman told me I could get the crossdrilled and not have any issues. They give a 2 year warranty...

To be honest, I am a bit concerned about the lack of information about slotted and drilled rotors. I know slotted has to do with removing the build up of gases and drilled is usually for betting cooling (more surface area exposed to the air, more heat is dissipated). However drilled rotors have been known to cause stress cracks.

A few things about slotted and dimpled rotors........
FEATURES *Wide aperture grooves
*Dimple hole construction
*Balanced geometry
ADVANTAGES
The wider slot actually draws cool air across the pad surface keeping pads and rotors cooler. They also expel dust, dirt and hot gases better than fine slots which eventually fill with rust and scale and become ineffective in our opinion.
The blind drilled holes break down surface gases when braking from speed but do not weaken the rotor cross section as can happen with through drilling, thereby lessening the chance of rotors cracking over time and heavy use.

What pads did you get?
I ended up picking up Power Slot rotors with Hawk LTS Truck/SUV pads. I loved the rotors when I had them on my car, and the Hawk HPS pads were good. I figure the extra stopping power is important for something that from the get go is 1900 lbs more than the car.
