Good luck and I hope you get it back today/tomorrow! Not only should you make sure of the paint, alignment and all the other items stated, also make sure the body panels line up properly.

I had a similar accident as XC700116 describes, but in an '02 FX4. Basically the truck was worth $17K and the insurance paid $16.5K to fix. Needed everything new from the cab forward, except the 5.4L, passenger front door and an entirely new frame. Everything looked and worked great when I got it back, except the hood to fender and fender to door alignments. Make sure they warranty their work, cause you'll notice little things in the coming days and months that weren't fixed properly. It took them 2.5 months for the initial fix, but had the truck back in the shop 3 times in the next month for small issues.

Of course with the severe damage to the truck, I ended up trading that '02 in on my current '06. Was a good move for me, since you never know what is hidden underneath.

EDIT: Oh and again, good luck and glad to hear you'll be getting her back soon.

Wishin I was on east coast time because it'd be 6 hours later than what it is here in Hawaii and I'd be that much closer to getting my truck back. I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve right now. I just want to go back to sleep so this afternoon would just hurry up and get here.

You can quit waiting. Just got off the phone with the shop and they asked for one more day. The ignition is all done and the body parts are currently being installed, but it seems they have to take it to the alignment shop (gee what a shocker) and it won't get back from the shop until tomorrow sometime. So now it's 24 more hours of waiting.

Dang man that sucks. He guaranteed you it was going to be done today didn't he?? I can't believe they're taking this long to finish your truck. I'd be so freakin' pissed if I were you.

He actually called me about 4:30 this afternoon and told me to come pick it up. I still have to go out and get it aligned because the shop they were going to take it to is closed until 3 June. I have a shop that specializes in lifted trucks that I plan to take it to. The repair shop is going to reimburse me the cost for the alignment and I also had to put a new battery in it tonight as well. Now I have a new problem which I'll put in a different thread.

Morning wxmcpo,

you must be so happy to be back in your truck! I wouldn't care if it was driving sideways down the road. Just to back in it again... sigh... how I miss my truck...

Good to hear wxmcpo!!! It sucks that it took that long but at least you've got it back an are happy that you can drive it despite the other minor issues you are having.

Congrats on getting the truck back! Always nice getting your ride back after something like this, kind of like an early X-Mas present.

Get it aligned and take her for a long joy ride. Make sure everything is in working order. After taking so long, I wouldn't let them off the hook if anything is wrong.

Post some pics of when you get a moment! Again it's nice to hear you got the truck back.
