Default Sold the Ford, bought a Cummins

Well, this is my final post, the title says it all. I've owned F150's before but the '04 I just got rid of was by far the worst truck I've ever had. I love Ford but that 5.4 that's in that truck was junk. I hope you guys have better luck than I did. This is an awesome forum with tons of info. It's been so helpful to me. Y'all have a good one.

Cam phasers, chain tensioner, injectors, FPDM, emergency brake locking up. You know how finicky the 5.4 is in the '04. I know there are tons out there that perform correctly but the one I had was a PITA. All of this and the truck has 120k miles on it. Unacceptable.

Yea the 5.4 3vs are not good motors. What year model cummins did you get? They are great engines but unfortunatly the suspnsions under neath them are quite problematic unless you have a newer one. Congrats on the new truck bud.

It's impossible to build anything that makes everyone happy.

Got an '03. This will be my third cummins. Love the engine man. The truck falls apart around it though lol. Now if I could afford a cummins swap into a super duty, I would be in heaven. As far as the " impossible to make a vehicle that makes everyone happy", I agree but the problems I had with that truck truly is a vehicle that wouldn't make anybody happy.
