So you want an A/M intake? Are you sure?

Had the same issue. Luckily php got me my tunes pretty quick even during their emergency and I fouled one plug. I was misfiring and running rough but the plug change sorted it all out. I would leave the stock intake on til I got the custom tunes if I could go back and do it again.

Crap I just noticed this thread and was unaware of the problem. Are you all saying this happens with any CAI on the market? I have a 2005 STX 4.6 v8. Have an S&B intake. TBS, and a Flowmaster exhaust. The intake has been on for maybe a year and I've thrown no codes as of yet. Truck runs good. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP.

there is NO WAY in hell a cai can destroy your motor..... 1. you have mass air flow sensors that detect that all that air is coming in to the motor and if too much is coming in it will automatically close the throttle body ever so slightly to keep the air fuel mixture...
2. a tune is always a good idea with any mod too but it is not vital to your motor stayiing together..
it makes me so mad when ford tries to cover their asses by blaming aftermarket products for their own flaws. when i took my truck to the dealer to the dealer to get the throttle body replaced said it was because of my roushcharger, they said " the vacuum is to much for that throttle body and that's why it malfunctioned"
well that wouldn't make sense because there is no excessive vacuum until the throttle is open..
what i am trying to get at is ford hates aftermarket products......
