Default So, I have this 2.5" daystar leveling kit..

I bought it for my 04 f150 xlt which was just totaled and never got to install it thankfully... and Im buying an 06 lariat..(see attached picture) both s.crew. The ride of the xlt was so stiff and bouncy and the ride of the lariat much more like a Cadillac.

I havent just got down and measured it.. but it doesnt appear to have the same amount of nose down that my xlt had... and wondering 1. if the suspension is different.. 2. when I install the 2.5" leveling kit that its going to have me going up hill all the time.. (bed sagging)

If I install the 2.5 kit would blocks be the best way to get my butt back up in the air? or Add a leafs? or will I even need them you think? any recommendations?

The truck currently has the stock 18" wheels and stock size tire.. I plan on running 285 or mayyybeee 295s not sure on brand.. open to suggestions here. Hankook Dyna pros ATM is one im looking at (dealer can get them at good cost)

anyway if you could help a ford brother out and steer me in the right direction and heck if you got pics of your ride with a leveling kit and whatever.. everybody loves pics! so post away guys. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hard to tell.. The difference is probably a half inch or better.

to me it looks like your xlt just sat higher in the back. they both look like the front end sits almost the same. my dad has a 2010 screw lariat and his sits lower in the rear than my 04 xlt. so who knows maybe its designed like that.

id put the 2.5 kit on it and see what it looks like. then if you need it you can put some little blocks in the rear to bring it back up.

I had the 2.5 on my first 2007 and if you stare and stare the front sits a tiny tiny bit higher.. But its not noticeable..

04-05 trucks are 1 inch higher in the rear than the rear of 06-08 trucks. your 2.5 kit will be fine on your 06, but will leave you an inch higher in the front. you can combat this with a 3 inch rear autospring block. or sell yours and get a 1.5 inch.

Ok.. as I understand it.. the truck comes with a small block.. you replace it with a 3 inch. or whatever makes up for it.. not stacking them.. which to me seems like a bad idea.

Are you saying they make 1.5" level kits? That would be more my speed instead of 2.5".
