smoking your tail lights?
Wondering opinions about smoking stock tail lights. I'm not in the position to drop 400$ or so on some recon smoked led's at this time so I'm considering smoking my stock tail lights and cab light as I'm going for the blacked out look. Was thinking I would mask the reverse lights section so they r still worth a Dang. Wondering what your guys opinion is on how they turn out etc.

I done mine like you're talking about. I taped off the reverse lights, as they're required to be clear by law here. Be careful and check your local laws on this. Also remember to be safe about it. Don't go absolutely black as they're to hard to see.

If you decide to niteshade them, keep your $400 saved up for tickets and a replacement rear bumper. I love the look, but don't feel it's worth the hassle.

Where I live I don't think tickets r gonna be an issue, plus I have a work truck and I don't drive my truck daily. I don't like the idea of low vis getting me rear ended tho. The light tint doesn't look bad tho. Now I'm on the fence.

I think it looks great, when on the right vehicle, and done right, but I have been behind somebody with them tinted so dark that I have almost plowed into them. I need a new front bumper, so maybe next time I will just go for it. I guess it kind of depends on your area, but I know around here it is just asking for problems from Johnny Law.

Heres it done with night shade. I don't have a picture with them on but you can get the idea. It comes out nice if you do it right and spray from a good distance and comes off real easy with break cleaner no prob if you mess up or don't like it
