Default Single in dual out vs. true duals

I look at many other threads and none answered my questoin so, I have an 07 f-150 xlt with the 5.4l. Right now I have straight pipes with a Y pipe to dual out. I want it louder, will true duals with x pipe be louder than the straight pipes with the Y pipe?

I have straight pipes with a x-pipe and its loud. If you want it louder, I'd maybe look into cutting the back cats out

Duals wth an H pipe will be a bit louder and throatier in the lower RPM range and a pro chamber will be a bit more on top. An x pipe will actually quiet it down a bit in the lower range and the scream in the higher rpm's.

When you cut your back cats off it didn't throw an engine code? Or have any problems? Cause I know I needs my cats for back pressure

No cuase mine had four cats on it and since I didn't have o2's behind the second set no check engine light and with it still having the set of cats between my o2's it still has cars on it so it has plenty of back pressure

True duals and a rear cat delete will make things louder for you.... Or keep the y pipe, delete the 2 rear cats and put a really short like 10" or 12" single inlet / dual outlet muffler on. That will earn you some extra decibels cheaply... You would just need to clamp or weld in some straight pipes to fill in the cat and the distance from the y pipe to muffler.
