Well since i got my hids i had a good set of silver star head light bulb riding in my dash. Since the reverse lights suck i decided to see if they would work in their place. I had to remove a little off the bulbs but, in they went and quite a bit brighter. I krimped a wire to the prongs on the silver stars and put a quick tap on the wires going to the factory bulb harness. I was never a fan of the accessory reverse light on the rear bumper. I will try to get a couple of quick pics

Whats the power rating on the factory reverse bulb? The H13 is a 55w bulb, if the stock reverse light is less then that you run the risk of burning up a harness and potentially starting a fire. I'd be careful and check it out.

3156 (Stock): 402 lumens @ 27W (rated at 12.8V) - so 2.1A draw
H13ST: 1495 lumens, doesn't specify if its at the 55W or 65W filament (rated at 12.8V) - , 4.3A Low, 5.1A High

Draws should be slightly higher at the closer to 14.4V operating voltage. Stock reverse wiring is 18 AWG, which is the same as the headlamp wiing for both the low and high beams, so he should be alright wiring wise (although the headlamp runs are probably significantly shorter than the reverse). Bigger concern would be the plastic housing, really.

I wouldn't worry, leave them. I mean your reverse lights stay on for maybe 30 seconds each use? I want to see pics!!!
