Shudder/Vibration when turning at low speeds
Hi All,
I was hoping that someone could guide me in the right direction.
I own a 2005 F150 FX4 4x4 5.4 litre Supercab. Lately when turning at low speeds there is a noticable shudder/vibration coming from the front wheels. It almost feels as though the 4x4 is engaged when it isn't. It only happens when the vehicle is under power and turning at low speeds. Never at high speeds. It almost feels like it worsens when towing my 3000lb boat.
I don't know where to begin with this problem. It's definitely coming from the front wheels, not the rear.
Any ideas?

check your tierod ends to see if one or both boots have been compromised. put the front end on jackstands or something and jiggle the front wheels to see how much play you get. also check your upper and lower ball joints to see if those boots are still sealed OK.
While both wheels are up off the ground turn the truck on and keep it in 2-wheel drive. do both front wheels spin independent of each other? then throw it into 4-wheel and turn a front wheel; both wheels should be connected with each other and they won't be able to spin much at all if everything is OK (because they will be connected to the tranny).

hi my truck is having a bad vibration, but is after driving for like 45 min on a highway, then you come to stop and try to turned and if feels like the entire front end is falling apart, i took it twice to dealer and they said that they cannot spare a tech for that long to

Jumped on this at first but may or not be related. My 2-by may have a similar shudder. I usually notice it on a restart after parking. Spin the steering hard over to try to get out the parking space and WOW! Assumed it was a slipping belt...
