Default Should i be looking for a new head or is this repairable?

Pulled the heads off and was starting to take it apart to send it to the machine shop and this is what i found. Is this repairable with a shim/sleeve or do i need a new head and camshaft?

Me too. It looks like a burr on the camshaft. all the others look good. they are all smooth this one is all gouged. I’m thing manufacturer defect. But i'm not going to bother with trying to deal with Ford, because i know ill get the "have a nice day!"

I just measured the blob on the camshaft it is 0.0075 above the surface of the cam other then the blob the cam measured 0.000 from side to side (Blue Line). I measured from a part that was never in contact with the journal across to another side that has not touched the journal (White Arrow). Im starting to think that i may see if the machine shop can just knock the bump off and give the journal a little polish and call it a day. The white Arrow is pointing where i got a reference. The Red Circle is the high spot and the Blue line is where i measured from side to side.

I would have the whole cam tower line bored if your gonna pull the head for the machine shop..

Might as well do both heads while your at it too..
Did you drop the pan and check for any sparkles or metal flakes?
Are the valve lash adjusters seized? Just wondering because after a certain point of repair you may find it more cost effective to buy a reman..

Heads are both out. All the lash adjusters are good. I can't understand how there is such a high spot on the cam since they aren't worn. it's almost like weld splatter and i can't see the engine getting hot enough to weld metal together that may have contacted the cam. I totally think it was like this since the day it came out of the factory.

I don't think you can align bore the heads as they do not use a bearing. If you do any boring it would become oversized with no way to take up the extra space, as an oversize bearing would.
