Should I Buy???
I posted on here a few weeks ago about a truck that I was gonna buy, but the deal ended up falling through. Now I am looking at another F150 and wanted to see what you guys think about it.
This one is a 2005 Lariat Crew 4x4 with 30,000 miles. It has the 5.4 with an intake on it, high flow cats with a dual in/dual out Flowmaster, Superchips programmer, with 4.10 gears in it. The truck has 20" Rousch wheels on it. I would say it definitely hasn't been babied (with all of the upgrades), but would you hesitate in buying it? Any known issues that could arise from any of the mods?
I drove the truck and it sounds, shifts, brakes, drives, etc. really good. No issues that I found (other than damage on the bed from a slight accident). The owner bought it as a leftover from the dealership in '06 and the dealer had been driving it (approx. 16,000 miles).
After buying the truck and fixing the damage, I can come out around $17,500 total. I have been looking for a nice truck to last a long time, so let me know what you think.

That's a pretty fair deal. It's 5 years old, but doesn't have any real miles on it. I'd have it checked out at a dealership or reputable shop just to make sure there aren't any surprises before purchasing it. The biggest issue will be the sparkplugs (check the sticky at the top of this thread).
oh and POST PICS!

Yeah, what AK said...have it checked out by a reputable, knowledgable shop to make sure there aren't any hidden problems. But it sounds like a good deal for the truck and mileage that you're getting.
And as for all the mods go and your concerns about that, it sounds as though the body has minimal damage and with so few miles over the last 5yrs I would think that you should be relatively safe.

Id take it do a different ford dealer and tell them that you want an inspection done on it. i think it would be a few bucks well spent. also make the dealer change the plugs for you before you drive it off the lot w/ your name onthe title.

I wouldn't worry about the plugs at 30k, if it is a Ford dealer, they will probably replace them with the 2 piece anyways. If it isn't a Ford dealer, they are gonna break em off and not have the extraction tool.

The scheduled spark plug change is at 100,000 miles so, don't worry about plugs at all. With that low of miles make sure you change the oil every 3,000 miles and use the Motorcraft oil filter. That year/engine combination is picky. The price sounds good. Go for it.
