8K seems high, otherwise no... Gives you a year after that body style too...

Congrats on getting the truck back! Hope everything is better now and you can go many miles without any issue.

Anyway. That seems odd that something would have grenaded in your driveline causing the rear end AND tranny to **** the bed.
Always depends on the up keep and how the prior owner(s) treated the truck. Did it tow a lot? Off-roading? Neutral drops? Many explainable reasons the tranny failed so early, just never know what.

This is why I like buying new. If anything breaks, I know it was me who caused the damage or know there was a flaw in the build quality. Otherwise, it's kind of a guessing game.

I doubt I'd ever buy new again. I hate the idea that I loose over $5000.00 as soon as it's titled to me and I drive off the lot!
True, don't let it stop you from buying a high mileage used vehicle. Many good ones out there.

Well, if you plan on keeping the vehicle for the long haul, you'll never notice the $5K drop driving it off the lot. Only if you plan on trading every couple years. Kind of like how the value of a vehicle drops drastically once it hits 100K+ miles.

Seems like a nice truck! I would offer 6250... See if he will meet you at 6500

I don't buy new or low miles only cause I can't seem to save that long!!! We don't do debt anymore (I am writing my auto novel and will post soon) except for our mortgage. So I had to limit my truck to 15K for that reason... I wanted 04+ 5.4L SCrew 4x4 and that's the best deal with lowest miles I could find in a dark color... I am picky!!

This truck looks great for 11yrs old. And it only has 113K miles, that's barely over 10K per year. Interior looks really good for its age. Only tough part is the location of the CD changer. If I remember correctly, it's in the passenger rear door, very hard to access. Looks a lot like my uncles, which he purchased back in '97 or '98.

My bro in law has a 2000 or 02 with the changer under the rear seat... Has a removable thing that holds 6 CDs...

Honestly, I haven't even touched a CD in a long time since iPhones and iPods came around...

Well I think I might go look at it tomorrow. The dealer said that the price listed is the "Internet Cash Price". They do the financing game there and they said that the financed price is higher. I don't care as I won't be financing it with them but he said he would be flexible within $500.

Well there ya go! Do y'all have Randolf Brooks Fed Credit Union? If so and your credit is good, you can score 3.7% and get a buyers check and make that deal happen at 6500 DRIVE OUT or leave it... They will take it!

Car salesmen HATE me...

My '02 F150 Scab Lariat FX4 had the 6-disc changer in the arm rest. Was inconvenient, but not as bad as my uncles (97 or 97 F150) where it was in the 3rd door (passenger rear). Remember, these first couple years didn't have the 4 doors (2 front 2 back), only 3.
