I had a shorty on my Ranger, and now my F150. I believe its 14", but don't know what brand. One that you can find at Walmart or Auto Zone. As far as reception, I've noticed a bit weaker reception, but nothing horrible. Besides, if I go out of town anyways, I'll usually play CDs. Again the reception depends where you live, close to a metro area, or farther away. Mine bends in a carwash and while driving down the road, but its better than hearing "KA-TWANNNNGGGG" every time I pull into the carport.

Simple. It costs more. Even if it were only a dollar more, that would add up to millions, as they have sold that many trucks from '04 to '08 and present. I suppose they could have added it into the price of the truck though...

@ BlackFx4x4...Haha, the truck barely fits as it is. I live in a townhouse and the garage is only about 79 inches tall. Attempted to go in with the antenna on but it seemed to stress it just a little too much... while scratching the paint on the garage door frame. LOL

I cut mine for the same reason!! I got about 5 1/2 inch lift and 35s and it was scraping bad, and didn't have money to spend!! Also didn't effect my reception at all
