Default shifter light

does anyone know how to replace shift position light on fx4 console shifter?

I just replaced mine a week ago. What you do is...

1: open the center console lid.
2:Grab on the passenger side bottom corner closest to the passenger seat (the area right ahead of the actual storage console and right behind the cup holders) and pull up hard. It should just pop the little section surrounding the gearshift and cupholders should all pop up.
3:The light is on the left side right under the numbers showing what gear. You can easily see the wire that connects to the bulb.
4:Unscrew the bulb out of its socket and then you can remove it from its plug.

Thank you for this question and answer! My shifter light has been out for a few months and iam finally getting around to taking care of it, and just as i was starting to think of it i found this thread. Wow i love forums.

when i bought my 04 i thought mine was out, turns out it just fell out of the socket
