Default Shifter Does Not Click In Each Gear

Just recently noticed that my f-150 shifter does not click into each gear. It simply just slides. There is not feeling when the shifter goes into each gear. I know that most column shifters do not do this. Is this something to be concerned about?

If the gear selector locks in place and is not able to be "bumped" into any gear other than neutral without you pulling it towards you, I'd say there's no issue. Does the shifter match the selected gear?

Bump. The shifter just slides along the gear range. There is no click when going into each gear. Shifter dosent move once its in gear without it being pulled toward you. I have to make sure the indicator is on a gear otherwise it will be in between gears because it dosent lock in a gear.
