They grey part of the dash is different on the console model and has to be replaced if you want to do the full factory conversion as illustrated in the pics on my profile.

Can this "center" part of the dash be removed seperately without the entire dash coming out? My factory Ford manuals are at home; I can answer this one when I get there this afternoon, but I'm sure those that do not have them (manuals) would want to know this important part of the conversion as well. Since you did it first hand, you could answer this.

No, the entire grey portion of the dash is 1 molded piece. To do the full conversion, you need to pull your entire dash, including air bags, then install this new dash to obtain the portion that connects to the new center console shifter. I havent done this mod, but have looked into it. Cant find a donor truck that was center column shift.

No not without cutting it and then you are taking a chance on a rattle fest and you have to ruin two good dash's

the air bag and is fairly easy to remove the part that is tough is below it, it is bolted in with two 7mm screws coming from the inside of the dash. then when you get every bolt and nut that you can see out of the grey dash molding there is a 7mm screw on each corner of the dash that you have to remove which requires un bolting and pulling the metal frame fwd so they can be removed. Then you come to the only piece you have to cut that is directly under the steering wheel.
