Default shift cable

the white ball in the end of the cable (trans side) is elongated and falls off the linkage. can the ball be bought separately or is there a fix for the one in there.

Not enough wire

Just right.

I'll get the new cable assembly tomorrow. I doubt I'll be able to just get the black connector, but will ask.

I'm googleing the ball end part - cause I really do not plan on changing whole cable for a snap in ball end. May pay a visit to local junk yard too!

Here's the fix guys, visit the "HELP!" section of you local Auto Zone, O'Reilly, Advance, etc and pick up the pedal and shift linkage bushing kit, #14040, I think mine was $3.99. The kit only had one bushing that fit, but it was exact(the one not in the pic ), I forget the # on it, but it was the only bushing that had a part# on it and said "china". Hope it helps out, mine was a "snap" to install, ha ha . Seriously though, I snapped the bushing onto the ball first(by accident) trying to snap the bushing into the shifter linkage(using standard pliers). After that, all it took was a light-moderate squeeze with some needle nose pliers(arm to bushing cup) and it snapped right on. Easy install, longest part of it was waiting for the truck to cool down enough to do it without the risk of getting burned if I accidentally touched the exhaust.

No problem, anytime! Thanks for letting me know that it helped someone out, I was frustrated by this for 3 days until I found that bushing, glad to know that I saved someone the stress!!

I did recently find a link where the oem bushing can be ordered but I can't get into my e-mail right now. I'll post it one of these days for those who are interested.

Also, I'm sure most can figure it out, but please note that I listed the incorrect kit# in my original post, it should be #14041 as in the picture!
