shaking problem

Default shaking problem

ok im pretty new to the forum and learning new things here everyday...but now for the lil problem ive got. on the freeway cruising starting at about 60 threw 74 the truck just starts to shake. it goes on repeatedly the whole way. im not sure exactly where to start looking for a solution. i recently added the wheels and tires but not sure if it might be that. so HELP!!!!!!

You have one or more out of balance tires. Take your truck back to where you had the tires mounted and make them balance the wheels again. If they started out smooth then you threw a wheel weight.

thanks for the info. im going to take it back this weekend to get them balanced.

You also want to have the tires checked for excessive road force. They could be out of round as well. Not all tire shops have the ability to check for that but most of the big chains do.

after getting aftermarket rims and tires i have never been able to have them perfectly balanced, there is always a slight shake during highway speeds.

ok im going to ask them about the excessive road force when i go have them balanced at discount tire comp. thanks again for some of the info. i wouldnt mind a slight shake but what im dealing with right now is way too much

i,ve recently been told it is very common to feel rumble and or vibration if the rear end fluids were changed and the additive was added for lr type rear end. Didi you have someone change rear end fluid recently

Are the wheels you bought lug centric? Meaning the lug nuts are tapered like the oem lugs so that they center the wheel on the hub.
