Shafted by mechanic poss!!!
So i just got back from the dealship getting my truck out of service. I went to go get the trans checked out i have 64k on it. Say im coming up to a green light to turn right, well when i turn my trans is still in third but right when i make the turn and push the gas in clunks into second happens even when in traffic. But only occurs when truck shifting from third to second. Now SURPRISING mechanic diagnois was oh its a normal sound on these transmisions. So sell a truck that the trans will clunk at about 50k ya 50k. So question im asking everyone with a new body have this problem on the truck??? I have an 04 lariat
Plz help paid 107 for them to test drive it and look under the truck

Try taking it to another mechanic like Aacmo, that wont charge you for a diagnosed. then if something is wrong with the truck take it back to your dealer along with what your get from the independent mechanic, a COPY of the receipt and say this is not a new issue I brought this to your attention on 2/19/09 and you charged me the deductible then and I am still having the same issue now you need to fix it under the warranty and tell them you will not be paying a second deductible since they did not do what they where contracted to do.
It would be even better if you get a few mechanics to look at it then if they all say the same thing or close to it and ford refuse to fix your truck saying it is a normal sound file a suit against the dealer. the name of the game is paperwork.
It isn't ford that is refusing to do the work it is the dealer that is taking your money and not doing what they are suppose to. if your trans goes down and the dealer has to fix it they will get X amount form the warranty company, but if you can be strung along long enough so it goes out of warranty they can charge YOU XXX amount and make a lot more money.
I am sure if they see a law suit come to them they will be quick to take care of your issue, it will be a lot faster and cheaper then the law suit that they most likely wont win.

Sounds like a bad sylenoid in the transmission. I had that problem in my '01 dodge ram and it just got worse as time passed. The dealer said nothing was wrong with the truck two times. Took it to my trans guy who rebuilt my 3650 for my stang, and he fixed it and changed the fluid and all for $285.
Def have an independent mechanic look at it, there not ALL crooks!

Then you could find a more reputable dealership to do the repair.
