Try EBay, Amazon, TheMotorBookstore, or heaven forbid, the Ford dealer. Dealer manuals are usually quite a bit pricier than the Chilton's, Haynes, etc. publications.

A Google/Dogpile/Yahoo search with keywords such as "Ford OEM shop service manual genuine" etc. should pull up sites with what you're looking for.

One note - I'm seeing a lot of manuals now coming on CD only (experience with outboard motor and personal watercraft), and I don't like it. Ugh, like I want to pack my desktop out to the garage.

The 'just print off the pages you need' philosophy thing doesn't work - when I get out to the garage, Murphy's Law says that I will never have the pages I need. :-)~

Default less than optimal manual luck

just bought my 2004 F-150 XLT and have been looking for a manual in all the places mentioned. No luck so far. Could someone who has found 'the spot' pass the URL along ?
Thanks

Ebay. I got the 3 volumn set used for $90.00. They come up often. I've seen them from as low as $80 a set to about $150.00.

There were 3 in the 2005 set; I'm betting the 04's are the same. Volumn 1 is body, volumn two is the mechanical (engine, transmission, etc) and volumn 3 is the wiring (schematics).

You're looking for Helm Manuals. Check at http://helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=
Follow the links for do-it-yourself and manuals. That's what I have for my trucks and car. If it's available that's where you can get it.

I've used the online alldatadiy.com manuals for years, big cost savings over buying the manuals as well.
