Default Serpentine Belt Replacement

I've heard people here say that the Goodyear Gatorback is good and bad. I would like to find a place to look at one. What retail chain has one or do you have to order it from Summit. I figured I.m going to replace the tensioner and idler pulley I might as well replace the belt.

Can anyone tell me their process to change out the serpentine belt? I've never changed on on this truck before.

It is super easy. The belt tensioner will accept a half inch drive wrench. It is very tight and hard to do with one hand so a helper would be nice. Just put half inch drive in tensioner, release tension, remove belt, and do opposite to put on new belt.

Yeah, It was a real easy change. Just a little tight to fit your hand in there.

Yep it was super easy. I had the "whine" on mine. After taking off the serpentine belt and turning some of the pulleys by hand it was obvious that my tensioner pulley was bad. $17 later and a new belt it runs and sounds like new

I have always thought GB's were the best you could get and have been happy with them in the past. I put a GB timing belt on my DIL's RX 300 Lexus and had to replace it about 25k mi later because it was making noise and tracking like a drunken sailor. When I stretched it out from the crossbar of my vice the thing looked like a snake. Probably the end of GB's for me. It was made in a country I probably couldn't even pronounce . Seems like everyone has gone to making their product in strange countries where they wear loincloths.

I heard good and bad from the Gatorbacks. I ended up going with a Dayco and so far so good.
