my problem is the air bag light comes (blinks) on in about 3 seconds after the seat belt light goes out...in fact, it blinks the whole time...after the seat belt light goes out, the air bag light blinks 1 more series of 3 flashes then stays on?

Yeah. It's pretty much the exact same process. Read your manual to be sure, I think it's the same, but you end with the seatbelts buckled instead of unbuckled.

My passenger side seatbelt never started dinging again and I did this about 3 years ago.

Just did this yesterday for both front seats and it worked flawlessly. Thank god too cause I was tired of having the rear seatbelt plugged into the drivers one.

^^^^^^ Man, I never even thought about that, before I found how to do it in my manual I was driving around with the seatbelt ran behind me in the seat and buckled. THAT, was uncomfortable for a big man.

Exactly!!! I'm a larger fellow and that would drive me nuts even just running to the store up the street. So I tried the center seat belt up front and its shaped differently. Then I looked around and saw that the center one for the back seat was the same. Just reached and viola!!!

Dealerships can't tell you how but it's in the manual. The dinging sound is called the beltminder. The process is exactly as stated above but the parking brake doesn't have to be on.

Sounds like you need darker tint or just sit back in your seat. Never have gotten ticketed for lack of seatbelt though. Never have liked the nanny state laws anyways.
