Thumbs up Seat Rubbing Issue?? Help please...

I have an 06 XLT Crew cab that I picked up for a great deal... Runs and looks great. Only problem is the rear seat makes this rubbing sound every time I go over a bump... any ideas before I spend a couple of hours trying to take out the back seat to find it?

Thanks

Tom

Check to make sure the jack is tight. This should really be moved to the 04-08 section since it has nothing to do with the TOTM contest.

IS there anything under the seat? Is it latching all the way? Look thoroughly before taking out the rear seat...if you need to completely remove them it's a PITA.

if it is hard to find take some one with a good ear for a ride! put them in the back have them move around , get on the floor whateverit takes to narrow down the location of the noise. It has been done many times in a shop when the noise eludes us.

I have an '06 supercab that was making a similar noise. Thought for sure it was the back seats too. When i climbed back there and messed with the seats i got the same noise as when driving.
Turned out to be the moulding around the back window (sliding). I greased it up and now its nice and quiet again

Hint: dont use your 5yr old daughter (safely seatbelted) as the official noise locater.....it was frustrating
