Smile Sct 5 star tuner problem on my 5.4

Hey guys
i just installed a 5 star custom tune on my truck (87 performance/tow). my truck is stock at the moment and it feels different at the lower rams but when i step on it it hesitates for a second and then the power comes in. Is this happening because my truck docent have an intake and exhaust or is it a tune problem?
thanks

Totally normal, not the hesitation part, but the lag is normal, it just takes a little time for the fuel and air to meet and produce the power and actually raise the rpm's enough for you to feel that your going any faster. Think of it has turbo lag, but without the turbo.

But to answer your question, a intake *might* help slightly, the same goes with the exhaust. Obviously depending on which intake and exhaust you go with.

Same with my MPT tunes. I would contact 5Star to resolve the issue and send the CAI back

I have the 5 star 87 P/T tune and I don't have any hesitation. I would contact them.

You will hate that JLT intake. The filter is right above the engine, making it a hot air intake.

It's more of a lag when I stomp on the gas. Do you have a cai or exhaust or is your truck stock?
