Default What are the years that are einvolved?

I have an 08 with the 5.4 flex that "knocks & ticks" on startup but smooths out after a minute or so. Is this the dreaded cam phaser issue or normal for this engine. Sorry guys my first Ford and I already have minor issues with the climate controls that everyone else has now Im wondering if this will be my first major issue. Any advice thanks.

I'll agree with Lenn on his statements. If your dealer is not going out of their way to serve you in this state of the economy, then look elswhere. Right now we all know that car and truck sales are down. Dealers are looking at other ways to survive, and repair and followup services are two key areas they know that will get your continued business. If your not satisfied, simply ask to talk to the service manager, or the owner. If you are being polite, you will get results.

I was shocked at just how friendly my local Ford dealer is here in the Coppell/Dallas Texas area. I bought a used Ford F150 STX about 8 months ago. Paid $8000.00 for it. Since then, I've been treated as if I bought a top of the line, big buck vehicle. They gave me one free oil change at the time of purchase (they also performed an oil change before pickup), they also send me monthly emails and coupons for discounted oil changes, parts, etc.

I drove the truck in about a month ago to buy a battery; the weather in the Dallas area was cold, and I figured the trucks original battery was on it's last leg, and the dealership had it's 84 month battery on sale for $66.00. The service manager put a tester on the battery and told me the battery was still good, and did not recommend the battery at this time. We talked about it for a few minutes, and I decided to wait. He then tossed me another free oil change coupon, and said they would honor the price of the battery (in writting).

Moral of my long story? Find a friendly dealership. They are out there, and hungry for your business. Chances are good that you'll be back to buy another vehicle from them in the future if your treated good.
