what brand of winter tire are you using? im in saskatchewan, canada, and we already have 3" of snow and -10c and my 2wd lariat is crap with the goodyear wranglers on. im thinking about a set of bridgestone blizzaks.
i had these tires on the car i had last year, and they were fab.

I had it last winter, and used it as a plow only a little... With my stock tires my truck is a little lower.

Snow tires certainly don't hurt if you do a lot of driving on crappy plowed roads. My 37" M/Ts are great on deep snow, but plain suck on ice.

The black wheel and tire combo isn't the best in winter in my opinion. Plus it is the first set of rims I have bought for a vehicle, so I am overprotective of my babies!

Do they use road salt and the ice melt chemical in CO? I heard at one time they only used sand. In which case the rims would be fine. In places like Illinois they use so much salt and so many chemicals that cars and trucks don;t stand a chance let alone rims. The four years I spent in school in IL I washed my car after every storm. The salt was just caked to the car.

C-DOT doesn't use salt anymore because the cyanide content was shown to be harming wildlife. Now they use mag chloride spray, which is nicer on nature, but much worse on cars. Eats chrome, paint, rubber hoses, wiring, gaskets, etc..
Modern wheel chrome is pretty tough though. Seems to hold up as long as you keep it sprayed off regularly.
I guess I'm lazy. I'd rather buy new wheels in 4-5 years than invest in two sets and have to switch out all the time... although a set with studded 37s could be kinda cool..
