In most cases, insurance companies will right off any vehicle with a blown air bag, but try to insist they do not do this to yours. Good thing no one was hurt, good luck!

Clean retail value is 15k on the truck. I could see the damages being an easy 10k so they may want to write it off.

You could always buy it back from them and have it fixed or fix it yourself.

That is a lot more damage then most think it is but it can be fixed. Airbags going off pushes up the price a lot. Airbags are expensive and they do interior damage as well.

Keep us up to date on how this works out and be sure to push for a good buck if they want to write it off. You have options.

So I found out today were looking at a little over 8k damage with out opening the hood. They want to fix it with used parts off another salvaged truck and I'm not sure about that. The whole front clip.

you have nothing to worry about as long as a good reputable shop is doing the work...id much rather have used parts that are OE than new aftermarket body panels

Like the other guy said I'm sure it would be fine but I wouldn't want them to do that on my truck. Although if you get them to use new OE parts they will probably total the truck so it's your choice.

9100 and their cutting the front end off of a truck that's in a salvage yard. Not real happy about that but I'll have a nice 2004 f150 for sale in about 3 weeks.
