Default RWD and 4x4 spindle nut

I am assuming that there is a difference in nuts for RWD and 4x4 because I see reference from many sites that say RWD. However I can not find a reference to a nut for 4x4 for my 08 ?? Can someone please help... could they be one in the same ?? Thx airbak2

4 wheel drives are rear wheel drives.. or it would say AWD or 2WD which are still considered RWD.

The RWD/2WD uses a 'one time use' 36mm spindle nut.
EDIT: That whopper 36MM nut is torqued to 296 lb/ft.
After a quick Google-ing, looks like the 4WD center hub nut is 13mm, torqued to 20 lb/ft. Not 100% though...it is the interwebs.

I thought it was 32MM that's why I did not say it...was not sure. Thanks Mulestang

Yup, that's correct on the 13mm for 4WD. I just had mine apart for a new cv axle.

I have a 08 5.4 4x4. I am going to change my front brakes and rotors too. You are supposed to use new spindle nuts but all I can find are nuts stating RWD not 4x4 !!! Does anyone know if they are one in the same or do they have to be for a 4x4 thx everyone..

^^ I moved this post back into your original thread here. Please don't revive old threads with the same question, especially after you've already received answers.
