Rusting cab corners
Am I the only one with rusting cab corners? Drivers side in particular is bad. Seems to be surface rust though as I can't poke through it. My truck also has that Ziebart rust spray as well which I guess did not help (installed by previous owner).
Does anyone else have this problem?

I've seen this problem on tons of fords, and its contained in tons of threads including the gas door area as well. I'm not sure how its rusting but its obvious that water somehow gets in there... Maybe its from the third brake light leaking or the rear window leaking?
I've gotta get my rockers and cab corners done this spring. I can't wait to kill that eyesore.

Sunroofs are the culprit for most. You really dont see rusted out cab corners or rockers on most 04-08s, but majority of those with a sunroof have rust. The drain runs right to that area.

Come to think of it, most of the trucks I looked at when I was shopping for my truck had sunroofs.

I was sort of the opposite. Got sick of shopping for chevys because they all have rocker-rot. You rarely see that on our f150s. I shopped for months for the right truck, and almost all of them were holding up exceptionally well. The day I took mine for a test drive, I put my finger thru the rockers.
Got a good deal, and my uncle owns two collision shops. I'll still come out on top after repairs.

I definitely noticed the gas door rust on even the cleanest of trucks.. The cab corner rot I noticed on at least half of them. It took me a while to pick up on it. Some of the trucks even had nice paint over the rot, but when you pushed on the paint at the cab corner with your finger, it would flex....I was shopping for almost 1.5 years because I was so picky and dead set on a cash purchase.

rust can suck it! god i hate it!
you better get on that quick, grind it down and repaint it or bedline it, depending on how high up the rust is on the corners. might want to try and spray some por-15 on the back side, if you can. im not sure how its set up or if you can get behind the panel.
my 02 is going to be like new in a few weeks here. new rocker panel, bed has been rebuilt underneath and covered in por-15, cut out some of the body supports under the cab and welded new metal in...Michigan winters suck *** and reek havoc on underbodies.
just get on that rust man, if you let it go too long youll have a head ache of a job ahead of you.

No all you need to do is blow compressed air down the tubes and send water down and watch behind your front tires for water to come out in a steady stream.
