Rusted in hitch...HELP?

Spray it with your favorite penetrant for a couple days in a row. The next step requires caution and an assistant. Strap it to something solid and put a moderate amount of tension on the hitch. Just above an idle is plenty. Now start rapping the receiver with a hammer and I think it will go. If not, repeat the procedure with heat.

Just be careful because burning up the wiring probably involves more cost and labor than installing a new hitch!

If you can see the front side of the hitch from under the truck, make sure you spray some oil in that way too... Once you get it out, goop some anti-seize on there before you put it back in and it won't happen again. Good luck man...

Put the pin back in and tow something big and heavy with significant tongue weight. Tow it down some rough roads, wash board, etc. should be enough to get it moving again.

Happened on my 98. What I did was take the tailgate off (can swing hammer harder), pb blast it, and sledge hammer. Couple of hard hits and it slowing backed out.
