New F150 supercab 4x4
Just purchased a new F150 4x4 and have put about 200 miles on it now and wanted to see what it would do when I put the pedal to the floor. Much to my surprise the tranny doesn't downshift like the trucks I have had in the past. Is this normal for this new truck not to downshift (passing gear) or do I have problems?? All comments will be greatly appreciated, also I know it is new but am getting 13.2 MPG, will this get better with use??

What speed did you floor it at? Between 40 and 55is it won't downshift. You are already in second. Above 50 it should downshift to second. Like Ty said get a tuner and you can change the shift points and how hard it shifts.

Thanks for the input -- sure figured I would get a little better milage. Guess I'll try punching it at 50 plus and see if it downshifts, bear with me, last truck (SUV) was 1995 Explorer v/6
