Backup Camera Switch?
I have a Peak wireless backup camera on my 05 SCREW. I have it plugged into the reverse light to activate the camera, but I would like to put a switch on it as well so that I can turn it on whenever I like, but still have it turn on when I am backing up. I have been trying to think of the right way to do this, but I am not sure how.
I have thought about powering the switch and then running a hot wire from the switch and tying it into the wire that connects to the backup light. However, I am not sure if that would turn on (at least the driver's side) backup light. I would hate to freak out people behind me. Or possibly blow the camera and/or backup lights with too much current if I forget to turn off the switch before I back up.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! I would likely also use the advise to put a switch in the cab and my topper/bed for lighting in a similar fashion (and likely a different thread).
