Hi guys, does anybody uses this oil in their 5.4's? A mechanic told me that this is a great thing and after 2 oil changes with this product the lifter noise will go away and truck will run smooth. In his defense he's got an 06 XLT with 270k miles and still runs strong and smooth. Would anybody recommend using this oil? Or just stick with whatever they used at the dealership? Thanks

I think RP makes good stuff, but I'd stick with 5w20 or 5w30.

BTW, RP is a marketing ploy and nothing more. Any properly-certified oil will work fine provided you use a good filter and check / change it regularly. My go-to is Castrol but that's because it's near me and it's cheap.

Get coffee, go over to Bob is the Oil Guy and do some reading.

I like oil threads. Regular Quaker State 5W-20 here.
