You are right my symptoms for throttle body different
My bad throttle body would just flat shut down the engine, Bad coil would do what you describe . Fuel module would cause mine to shutdown and not start for awhile every so many miles .
You have the miles for it to be timing problem . If its an 07 I would think its got phasors and 3 valve . I'm used to the 5.4 so I 'm just guessing . If it has VCT's sticking out of valve cover you have cam phasors .
At same miles I'm running 7 original oem coils . I tried a cheap coil and it went out in months with your symptoms ,bucking at speed and intermittent .
I had to make it misfire for 20 seconds, or so it would set code on first coil failure . Made me nervous about damaging engine or cats. But it set no.1 misfire ,put cheap coil in no1 ran for months and it started bucking at hwy speed . It set code and I bought autozone guaranteed coil on no.1 .
I have done timing job ,she runs good .
Mine jumped time with broken guide and thru one of the rollers off no 8 intake valve off to the side . That caused a lot of noise in the engine .
If you can't find a bad coil or spark plug you may have to pull valve covers to count valves per cyl and see if chains are loose . Also what kind of sludge you may have built up .
I was chasing intermittent at 100k so I changed all the injectors to eliminate that . But I also had the noisy cam phasor building up and lash injectors were also making noise I found out later .
The 07 may have the vcts to drive cam phasors that have to be changed with the covers off .My 05 vct's come out with valve covers on .
Dropping oil pan will let you know if guides are broken, if so you are looking at timing job. At least you have more room to work with than the 5.4.
Also if timing job the codes should have come in about bank 1 or 2 retard timing kind of stuff . And you are not seeing any codes .
Sorry can't be more helpful .
