I have been looking too, but so far I haven't decided on anything for sure. I had some stoptech rotors on my last car with hawk HPS pads. That was a great combo. Great on the street.

What type of driving do you do? Lots of stop and go city driving? Do you tow often? Light or heavy towing?

Got a set of fancy wheels that you want to keep the brake dust off of?

All these will play into what you should consider in brake upgrades.

I got my rotors from Napa. I got the premiums the guy said they were better and stronger steel that the lower grade steel. I got the mid grade pads from Napa. They are OEM replacement, but I have almost no brake dust. Can't complain about performance. I typically drive about 100 miles per day sometimes more. Rarely do any towing and if I do it's my inlaws 1200lb boat/trailer which is nothing for our trucks. I don;t do any offroading and have the stock wheels and tire size. I'm happy with 'em. For our trucks I really don't see the point in slotted and drilled rotors. They may improve the performance and appearance, but I use my truck mostly for work. Rotors were about $90 a piece and the pads were around $50 per set I think. Did not replace rear rotors since the truck only have 45,000 miles on it.

Use high quality parts !! Wagner is a good choice for pads and rotors. Ask for the premium line, good quality made in the USA rotors are your best choice. They are worth the extra cost. Try to stay away from the store brands. They make great pads , as well.

Good luck !!

Anybody who has ceramic pads will. It is the nature of the beast. Especially when they are cold. Keep in mind too, that ceramic pads don't work 100% until they are good and warm.

I just went with OEM parts from Advance. My rotors were all OK so they stayed on for now. If you aren't driving your truck to the store, get the manufacture date from the driver side door... For some reason it makes a difference on the rear pad part number (at least on 2006 models). The guy at the store and I looked at both part# pads and could see NO difference, but for some reason it makes a difference.
