Eh I will just point out that bama should be glad mc coy went down. Because that was a freshman QB hitting 2 TDs... Not much from a "great" sec Def. 1 sack? great timing no doubt...

Not so fast my friend, McCoy's best two games combined this year: he threw for 311 yards, 1 TD, 4 INT, completing 55%, with a QB rating of 83. YEA, he would have made a difference. I know Tebow really made a difference for Florida. No Offense to Florida or Tebow because I have a ton of respect for them both. And btw, how about that #1 rush defense who averaged giving up only 62 yards per game giving up not one but 2 100+ yard rushers, not to mention one of them being a true freshman. And to stay on forum topic...my 06 f150 has been leveled and I am running goodyear mtr's 305/70/17.

Alabama had prepared for 30 days to stop Colt McCoy and the offense he runs. Well McCoy goes down, everything we had prepared for goes out the window and we have to come up with something else. Which lead to our defense slacking. There is no doubt in my mind that our defense would have played better if McCoy was in the game.

Not to mention McElroy played with two broke ribs. Ingram had a foot injury from a practice earlier this month and was cramping. If people want to play the game of "what ifs" there's a ton of them, and none of them matter. Bottom line, a program like Texas should have had a more prepared back up QB. Texas has no running game and revolves around a passing game. It's not like Texas didn't have chances to put that Gilbert kid in and take some snaps in actual games earlier this season. How many blowout's did the longhorns have this season??? No instead Mack Brown and the rest of the staff decided to pad McCoy's stats in hopes of the Heisman. Too bad for Texas, looks like Gilbert has the makings of a great QB. Had he been given the chance to experience "real life" game time, he may have had a better chance to lead the longhorns to victory.

Not to take away from the original poster, but this thread does belong in off topic. If it were that big of a deal you'd think a mod or admin. would move it.
