Default right side manifold cracked???

Is this a common problem. was underneath my truck today and had a look at the manifold.i knew there was a ticking noise from the exhaust but thought maybe broke a bolt. but low and behold i found that the right side manifold had decided to split. I know how to change them but just was curious as to how many of you have had this problem? thanks oh yeah my truck is a 2006 F150 super crew.5.4 litres of terror. lol

I had the same problem with my truck. I spoke to a mechanic and he said this is a common problem. Based off this info I went with JBA shorty headers. The cost to have one manifold replaced was about $500 and to have 2 headers cost me $870. I had the exhaust shop install them after reading all the problems people were having with this job. I made the right decision when the shop told me it was a bitch of a job. I know it is a lot of money but I think it was worth the money because I do not have to worry about it again. I did notice a better throtle response. Good luck to you and I hope this helps.
