On my 04 f150 when I put it in reverse it acts like it's in neutral for 30 or so seconds and then it will kit in. What's the problem?

Low on fluid ?? when is the last time it was serviced ?? P1000 DTC means drive cycle not complete...did you have a programmer with a custom tune installed ??

^ what he said, have you checked the fluid yet? Also, you can crawl underneath and see if the plastic grommet on the linkage to the transmission is chewed up or gone, that may cause it to take a couple of seconds to actually catch but 30 seconds sounds like low fluid. Good luck, let us know.

Yes, that will cause it to slip dramatically. I would take it back to who serviced it and request a full refund AND for them to do the job over again. If you ran it like that for over 1k miles, your tranny would be destroyed.

Too much oil and it flows slowly, meaning the fluid gets hot, but can't get pushed to the cooler fast enough.
