Reverse/back up sensors not working

Reverse/back up sensors not working
I recently purchased an 06 F150 FX4 and when I bought it the reverse sensors worked as they should. But as of a few days ago, the interior light shows that the sensor is "off". Obviously i have pressed the button to turn it on but it refuses to change the light. Occasionally it will be "on" when I start the truck but as soon as I put it into reverse it almost immediately turns to "off" again. Anybody have any ides on how to trouble shoot this problem?

hey hope this helps
check the manual. its in the quick reference guide. i have the same problem. i know its in there cause i read it. I've just been lazy to do it. i think you have to turn the ignition to on, place it in reverse and press the (RSS) button. i think thats how u turn it off and on. hope it helps

mine did that and I took it to a dealer and they replaced 3 sensors.
Now mine is constantly beeping whenever its in reverse so Ive gotta take it back to the dealer to get it scanned and fixed.

RSS not working
mine does exactely the same thing.I just bought a 2005 FX4. it worked intermediately for a few weeks and now doesnt work at all. As soon as I put the truck in reverse the off light comes on. I have cycled the ignition several times but as soon as it goes into reverse the light comes on. the only thing that has changed is the weather has gotten alot colder. it almost never worked in the mornings, but worked on the driver home.

I found this information from another member. I just checked and 1 is not clicking.
Turn the ignition to the on position(do not start the truck), set the e brake, put the truck into reverse. Now go the the bumper and put your ear the the sensors (one at a time) if they are working you will hear a ticking if you find one that isn't that is your bad one. I have a extra one, new that I didn't use when I replaced mine. It was the same price if I bought 2 or 3 it was a no brainer for me.
