Default resetting after renewing battery

Do anyone have any tips on making the reset stick. I followed the instructions. Truck now stalls since I renewed battery.

Sometimes that happens when u replace disconnect or unplug the computer just drive it around for aliitle and it's should relearn everything and run fine and not stall. Just give it alittle and it should be fine.

I've heard the same thing....the PCM has to relearn and reset it's idle characteristics, and that it can take 20 minutes of driving or a couple of short driving cycles. This did not happen to me though when I changed the battery last year in my 2005. If it makes a difference, I have a 4.2 V6.

I did not even loose my radio presets! It took me about 5 minutes to change the battery, so maybe there's a certain time before the PCM looses it's stored settings? Not aware if the PCM has some sort of stored memory (I.E. flash memory, e-prom???)

There is some type of capacitor in the system. That's why when you reset your PCM they say to disconnect the battery for awhile or turn the lights on with the battery disconnected.
