Default Replacing grille emblem

Any pointers on how to remove the stock emblem from the front grille of a Lariat? I removed the two metal bolts that are attached to the back, but it seems like its not meant to come out. I dont want to break it taking it out. It's like latched in and I feel like I have to bend the plastic around to get it out? Has anyone done this before?

2 nuts and it comes right out, there is 1 locating pin too, so just pull straight out.

Yeah but on mine, there are those two plastic things that are restricting it from being pulled right out. and it looks like theres a notch on the pins so that it sort of hooks into the plastic so it can't come right out...take a look at the pic...

It looks to me like you could slide the emblem over and then down to where the big hole is at the bottom and it will pull out...

Yeah but the problem with that is that there is a pin right in the middle that is in a single hole, so you can only move the whole emblem like 1mm from side to side

I would break the pin off the back.. its only there to make sure you dont put it on upside down.. breaking the pin would be alot better than possibly ruining your whole grill

Ide just pull it around. It is meant to come off. Anyone know about the rear emblem? How hard is it to take off the tailgate?

I ended up heating up those plastic tabs with a hair dryer and then pried it out and it popped right out

Im in the process of shaving and it is a difficult task the rear ford symbol is held on by a glue substance and also held on by 2 locking pins as on the front it will be a big gap there and there will be a hole where the emblem is and you will see into the tailgate
