Its pretty easy. Just be sure to get all the injectors seated properly. You have to push down pretty hard to get them seated properly.

Thanks for replying, am going to try it by myself. Everyone is charging unbelievable prices just to replace injectors. But before i replace them, i need to make sure if it is just the injectors that need replacing or my hydraulic lifters? Cos this mechanic kinda told me it is the valves that are making the tapping noise and recommended changing to synthetic oil due to valves sticking. I did change to synthetic but noise is still there. Not sure if i should replace both injectors and hydraulic lifters? How do you tell if it needs replacing? Please advise, thanks

These motors are very noisy engines. There are very few early 3v out there that don't make some kind of noise. As for the injectors theu arnt really bad they are just noisy. Every man to his own but in my opinion these motors have really changed my mind about ford.

I've also had a tick in mine, I heard that is just how they are. At first I hated it, now I've grown custom to it. My friends say it's a mini diesel. lol

hi, i am still unsure if i should go ahead and replace the injectors or not. Am not sure if it may be the hydraulic lifters as a mechanic did mention about valves sticking. How do i check though? please advise.
if it is indeed the injectors, i am buying them and replacing my old ones, will post the outcome online for everyone

I have just replaced my fuel injectors 3 days ago with the same injectors in the above thread. Don't yet know if it has help with mileage, and a don't really notice any sound difference. When I cold start my truck there is no noise, then as it warms up, I get ticking coming from the top of the engine and a light knock from each fender well. From inside the truck at a stop light it kinda sounds like a diesel, only quieter. The ticking wasn't the fuel injector, it looks like the cam phasers need replacing. Might be the same for you. Anyways, u'll need di-electric grease (to grease the o-rings) and just some regular tools and a F150 Haynes book ($20) wouldn't hurt. But if I remember correctly:

1.) disconnect neg battery
2.) remove air intake
3.) remove fuel rails, by gently pulling up, the injectors will pop out
4.) remove spring clip holding injector to fuel rail
5.) install new injectors
6.) re-assembly in reverse order

Also, there will be alot of gas leakage, so make sure to do the change after the truck is cold.

For the manifold see the post I made in this thread: http://www.f150forum.com/f4/dreaded-...anifold-77795/

Any update? Also, are you going to use stock injectors? Or upgrade? Also upgrade fuel rail?

Hi, no i haven't done anything yet. Been pretty busy with work lately. Am thinking of getting the injectors from http://rockauto.com/
But am not sure if i need to just replace hydraulic lifters only or i have to do the injectors as well. A mechanic did mention it may be the valves causing the tapping, so dunno if its hydraulic lifters or injectors. Kinda pricy for injectors

Your engine doesn't have lifters it has lash adjusters.
