Default replaced transmission did not line up tourqe converter right..........

Installed tranny in 2006 f150 tightened down tourqe converter to flywheel and noticed i could turn engine over, unbolted tranny reallingned tourqe converter in tranny put it all back togethor. Now there is ahorrible grinding noise in drive when trying to move and truck does not want to go forward. Reverse works fine my question is what did i screw up is this tranny toast now or can it befixed? From what i read i think at minimum i need a new tourqe converter and possibly a tranny pump.

Did you make sure the TC was fully seated to the pump before installing the trans?

I have worked on 2 transmissions where the torque converter was not seated correctly. In both instances it broke the front pump stator, scored the sealing end of the stator, galled the forward clutch drum sealing area and burned the forward clutches.

That looks nasty ^^^^ did you just slide the TC on or did you rotate it about 5 times with a little push to make sure it bottomed out?

It clicks three times. Unfortuately, it's trashed. I did the same thing! I haven't worked anything new and did not realize how many times it needs to slide.
